Who knew that empty toilet paper rolls could be so handy throughout your home?!
As a family of 6 we tend to have a plethora of empty toilet paper rolls. Since I love a good organizing hack, I decided to put these cardboard tubes to the test. Here’s the power of a toilet paper roll!
Here are 8 brilliant ways to use an empty toilet paper roll around your house (you can even impress your friends & family):
1. Organize Office Supplies
You can easily decorate and jazz up these toilet paper rolls with paint or decorative tape. I just took a sturdy paper plate and super glued the rolls to it. I even cut some in half for shorter items such as crayons.
My kids thought this was so cool. No more fighting over art supplies in this house (at least I can hope). Each of my kids can have his/her own “art plate” and let their creative juices run wild.

2. Crease Free Pants
The dreaded crease line! You are trying to look nice and put together except you got hanger lines. To solve this problem, just cut a toilet paper roll in half and use them as a “cushion” for your clothes. You could even use an empty paper towel tube too. Say “goodbye” to those stubborn creases.
These wool dryer balls are wonderful for reducing static and decreasing your drying time too!

3. Secure Wrapping Paper & Crafting Supplies
I make personalized goods in my Etsy Store “AndreaJeanStore”. As a result, I have a lot of paper and vinyl goods. They tend to get unraveled and it makes my office space look a little less organized.
Not any more! An empty toilet paper roll comes in handy, especially with Christmas wrapping paper.
4. Make Use Of Old Dryer Lint
Add some dryer lint to the inside of a toilet paper roll and you have an excellent fire starter. We love this because our current home has a wood-burning fireplace.
You can also save those old egg cartons and add your dryer lint.
5. Organize Cables & Cords
This has been a serious game changer for me. Sure tying cords off with a rubber band can be helpful, but I find that they still manage to get tangled. This is a foolproof way to keep those cords intact.
6. Homemade Bird Feeder
This was such a fun craft idea with my kids. We also have a ton of birds and squirrels in our backyard, so it was rewarding to see them eat the fruits of our labor. Although, we have 1 squirrel that tends to dominate the food chain over here LOL.
Grab a bunch of toilet paper rolls, a jar of peanut butter and some string. We used spoons to lather the tubes with peanut butter. Next, roll your saturated tube in bird seed and attach the string. You can even add some honey to give them an extra sweet treat.

This has disaster written all over it! Can anyone else relate to the endless pile of bags? The target bags are so nice and durable. I like to use these as garbage can liners in the bathroom and for stinky diapers.
