Are you annoyed by flies and wasps while enjoying yourself at home or outside? If so, this trick will be your new favorite!
Things you need:
- 5 or 6 pennies
- Ziplock bag
- Rubber band
First, put the pennies in the bag and fill the bag with water. Then make sure that you sealed the bag properly. Next, you will tie the bag on top with the rubber band. The bag seems like you are holding a goldfish, I know! But that’s how we want it to seem. After you finish this process, place the bag wherever you desire. I placed mine outside, where we usually sit and enjoy. You can put the bags in front of the windows or around your trash cans.
This bag keeps the flies and wasps away because flies have sensitive eyes to light changes. So the light reflects off the pennies and confuses the bugs. That causes them to fly away! This is the reason if you notice restaurants keep a bag filled with water and pennies outside.

Another way to keep flies and wasps away is by using aluminum foil. If you prefer a different way since it is easier to clean up, aluminum foil also does a great job!
