How to make a DIY Oven Cleaner?
You can clean your oven only with baking soda, vinegar, and water! These are the ingredients most of us have at home already. This is the best solution if you want to clean your oven chemicals-free!
Mix about 1/2 cup baking soda with enough water to make it like a paste. Add a little warm water to get the right consistency. Next, put the paste inside the oven using a paintbrush. You want to make sure there is no leftover paint on your brush. Then grab an empty spray bottle and pour equal parts vinegar and water. Spray the liquid inside your oven. This will cause the baking soda to foam!
Lastly, let baking soda and vinegar sit overnight. You can wipe it with a clean cloth and water in the morning! Repeat the process if needed.
How do baking soda and vinegar work on cleaning grease and grime?
Vinegar causes baking soda to foam and dissolves the grime. This helps to remove stubborn stains!
What is the best oven-cleaning product?
I love that baking soda and vinegar are a natural way to clean an oven. But if you need something that works way faster, Easy Off is the product you are looking for! This product works amazingly on those stubborn stains! After spraying Easy off inside your oven, letting it sit for only 5 minutes will do the trick! Then grab some paper towel to wipe the residue. It is better to do this step with paper towels so that you don’t need to stain your cleaning clothes all black. Next, I used SOS pads to wipe everything else. Get a clean bucket of water and start wiping your oven. I love how it makes it soapy and gets the extra dirt. You can also use these scrapers from Amazon to remove if there are still stains in small spots. You can also use steel wool to do this job!
How to clean the oven door and shine it?
You can use either the baking soda & vinegar solution we mentioned or Easy off for cleaning your oven door as well! If you want it to be a quick shining, I recommend using Easy off and wiping it off after letting it sit for 5 minutes! If your oven racks are made of stainless steel, you can use the baking soda paste for stubborn stains.
Oven Cleaning Tips
If you and your family enjoy cooking often, you can do a deep oven cleaning every three months. Or you rarely cook in your oven other than on holidays! Doing this cleaning twice a year is enough! Remember that even a small amount of burned food in your oven affects the taste of your food.
You can clean your oven lightly only with lemon and water spray regularly to prevent spending too much time on deep cleaning. The acids in lemon can make it easier to remove the grease.
You can choose to go with your oven’s self-cleaning feature too. Remember to remove everything from the inside of your oven. Lock your oven door and start the oven’s self-cleaning feature!
