How to Clean Your Entire Bathroom with a Dishwasher Tab!

Who knew a dishwasher tab could be so powerful outside of your kitchen?! I have tested 8 clever ways to use them in your bathroom!

Let me know which of these dishwasher tab methods is your favorite and which ones surprised you! You can clean directly with the tab; however, to make it more versatile I suggest making a solution with warm water.

I broke the tab in half and dropped it right into a re-purposed spray bottle. Then, I gave it a little shake and let it completely dissolve.

1. Vent Cleaning

I recently created a video on “8 Simple Secrets to a DUST FREE HOME!! (Genius Tricks & Ceiling Fan Cleaning Hack)” and I had to share this vent cleaning trick again. I had a couple more vents in my bathroom that needed cleaning too.

I put these directly into my dishwasher and they came out looking almost brand new. There was tons of hair stuck to the inside, and it just melted right off. Check out this video if you want to see the transformation in action:

2. Sinks and Taps

Not only are dishwasher tabs excellent at lifting grease and grime from your dishes, but they can work in your sink too.

I diluted one tab in a bottle of warm water. Then, spray, wipe and rinse. By the way, these “magic” dishwashing silicone gloves are a game changer! They are heat resistant and work great on car cleaning.

3. Bathtub

Grab your dishwasher tab spray and use it in and around your tub (be sure to rinse your tub well). I was disgusted at how much gunk was caked around the rim. However, it was super satisfying to watch it disappear.

4. Shower Glass & Oven Door

The first way that many people have heard how to use a dishwasher tab (other than in your dishwasher) is on your shower glass or oven door. I have tried these two hacks myself, and I was pretty surprised.

5. Shine Up Tab & Faucets

Spray a little of the solution on your hardware and watch them sparkle again. I just used a microfiber towel to wipe everything up.

6. Wall Markings

Did someone put crayon and grease all over your walls? These tabs are abrasive enough to get this crayon right out. You can make a spray solution with the dishwasher tab or use it the original form. If you want to see this in action check out this video next:

7. Toilet

Toilet cleaning has never been so easy! I sprayed this in and around my toilet. It smelled nice, but not too overpowering. If you have really bad toilet stains, try letting the solution sit for 15-30 minutes before using your toilet brush.

8. Grout

I had to test this solution on my grout. I have tried just about everything else when it comes to grout cleaning. In fact, I have an entire YouTube playlist dedicated to the subject.

I was certainly surprised with the results. I sprayed and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I then went in with a cleaning toothbrush and my grout brush. Now, this is not my favorite way to clean grout but it sure works in a pinch.
