Non-Greasy Stains
The good news is that these stains are easier to remove! You can sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda using a salt & pepper shaker bottle. Then wet a washcloth with hot water and squeeze it on the area. Next, cover the spot with the washcloth. Finally, you will let it sit as long as possible! I recommend you leave it overnight and come back in the morning. You can vacuum the area as usual and repeat the process if needed.
Greasy Stains
These stains can be more challenging because of the oil. It can leave deeper stains, and the residue attracts more dirt. But you will be able to remove the stain with baking soda!
The first thing you can do is press a paper towel or washcloth into the stain. This will allow you to remove as much grease as possible.
Next, using a Dollar Tree shaker, put a generous amount of baking soda on the entire area. Let it sit for a day or overnight. The longer baking soda stays, the more it will absorb moisture. Finally, you can vacuum the area as usual.
If the stain is tougher to remove, you can put a small amount of Dawn dish soap on a towel and press the towel but do not rub. Then repeat the baking soda process.

Freshen up your Carpet
Make baking soda part of your regular carpet cleaning! Because it does a fantastic job of absorbing moisture and eliminating the odors in your space. This works perfectly, especially in your entryway, since it is an often used area. You can lightly sprinkle baking soda all over your dry carpet. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then vacuum as usual.
