Give me a thumbs up if you dread cleaning your toilet? I have 4 kids and 3 toilets, so you can imagine there’s lots of cleaning that needs to be done. Until………. I found this clever bathroom hack you have to try!

It’s important to clean out your tank every few months. “Why?” you ask. What’s in the tank impacts what flows into the bowl. If your tank is cleaner, your toilet bowl will likely remain cleaner longer.

Grab yourself some white distilled vinegar or cleaning vinegar. I like cleaning vinegar because it’s slightly more acidic than regular vinegar. Plus, I feel like it gets everything just a little bit cleaner.

The cleaning vinegar is great because you can use it all over your home too! I often make my own DIY multi-purpose cleaner combining it with distilled water, a couple of drops of dawn dish soap, and some essential oils.

Next, grab a bottle with the vinegar and spray it all over your tank. You can use an old spoon or ruler to stir everything up. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.

Here’s another little toilet cleaning hack if you have some tough hard water spots around the rim of the toilet. Grab some toilet paper and stick it under the rim. Next, spray the toilet paper with the vinegar and let it sit on the stains while your tank is soaking.

When the vinegar is done doing its magic, scrub the tank and the bowl as needed. You will notice all that build up just melts away. You will have the whitest toilet in town.

I just used a green scrub pad and it made my tank look like new again. You will notice the sediment drops to the bottom of the tank. If you want, use a wet vacuum and suction that all up. I love my Bissell not only for spot cleaning, but for stuff like this.

Look at how white my toilet is now!!! It feels like brand new again. I can even get away with cleaning my toilet less often during the week (that’s a win in my book).
